Remove the ability for candidates to create companies on the database when they add their references
I am having to delete loads of irrelevent companies every week that candidates are adding to Firefish when they add their references. They are either duplicates that we already have on there, based overseas, or are small shops/places where they have done casual work that are never going to recruit staff. I am trying to keep the data relevent but this is just creating completely useless data that we can't do anything with. It takes so much time to keep having to archive them every week.

Hi All,
Delighted to announce we have introduced new settings within Settings > Candidate Portal, giving Super Users the ability to disable sub sections of the "My Profile" page of the candidate portal - this includes the ability to disable/hide the "Employment" section, meaning candidates will not have the ability to add new companies to your database or view existing companies that are suggested.
For more information on where to configure these settings please take a look at the Fish Tank: https://fishtank.firefishsoftware.com/candidate-portal-settings
Thanks again for your feedback,
Yannick

Astounding this is even possible. Should be dealt with as a priority as it's completely pointless.

I couldn't agree more! A recruiter just informed me of this. Firefish needs to inform all of their customers.

I agree - This is clogging up our database and is not necessary for us.

This surely has to be dealt with as a priority! A poor glitch in the system allowing candidates the opportunity to add companies. I have only just been made aware of it, I am sure if every client of FF were aware of it they would vote to get it sorted! A group mailer from FF should be sent to make clients aware!

This is a must for keeping the database full of relevant data, and would save a lot of time not having to go through removing irrelevant companies.

Just to make it clear, my suggestion below has been added to the one above from Tim, but my suggestion is not only the prevent candidates from creating companies, it is ALSO:
1. The company field should EITHER not be displayed at all on the profile tab on the candidate portal OR (if it has to be there) it must not display our client list AND it must not allow users to add companies.
2. Languages must be select-only and not allow users to add their own languages to our comprehensive list -

Currently, anyone that accesses the Candidate Portal is shown the complete list of the recruiter’s clients. That is confidential information and should not be displayed publicly. Also, any name that a user enters in this field is, frustratingly, added to our client list – spelling mistakes and subsequent duplicates included. We would like the option to EITHER not include the Company Name field on the Profile tab OR it should be a blank field that the user can fill in without it being directly and automatically linked to our client list data.
In the languages field, users should not be able to enter their own languages, but only be able to select from the languages that we had listed. We have seen a user creating their own combination “English and Russian”, and a different user creating “Russian and English”, to give one example. The languages field should have select-only functionality, and not a create-your-own functionality. -
