Universal Search Bar - at top of page
It would be useful to have a universal search bar at the top of the page.
Delighted to confirm we'll soon be starting to scope out requirements and plans for adding a universal search bar on the top menu within Firefish.
We'll provide further updates later in Q2 when development begins.
Thanks for your feedback!

When typing you have to choose between candidate and client. I would like to be able to type once and both results appear (assuming they are in there as candidate and client).
This would be for names, phone numbers etc. -

Would be really useful if it could search a phone number too

Must have - would save many clicks!!

When searching for a person I only want to do it once, not separately for candidate or client. It would work better for the results of the search to bring up either.

This request has been ongonig for 7 years according the comments.
It is a key frustration that you have to know/specify whether it is a Contact or Candidate to be able to find people. Surely this feature is not that difficult to implement, so many other CRMs have it without any issue whatsoever.
FireFish needs to become more easier to navigate for everyday tasks.

Allow users to recover previous searches that have been run that haven't been saved - for example, have an option where you can view your recent searches and rerun these.

Currently search fields on FF are people, company, adverts etc on FF. Instead of People, could FF separate out candidates and contacts?? It would just save the frustration of typing in the name of a contact in the candidate (default) search field.

The UI around searching for candidates / contacts assumes you know the name of the candidate or contact. If you get it wrong you have to go back to the navigation bar, click on search and try again (and on their surname I think).
Why not just list all contacts / candidates (toggle between them) with some filters and a search at the top on a single page? This would make it a lot easier. -

Have a single search facility - so you could search for any email or name irrespective of whether they are a candidate or a contact (and all, not just live).

This would be a fantastic addition.

Yes. Good idea. Search both Contacts and Candidates at the same time.
That way you get results all in one place. -

Please get this implemented!!

It would be useful when undertaking a search that when you are on the results page, there is a search bar / field that remains at top of screen that shows what terminology you searched for. it would also save having to come out of the search and start again if something needed slightly changed in the terminology.

It would be useful to have, like other CRM's, a search bar alongside the initial top bar list. This could enable quick searching instead of having to navigate back to the dashboard.
Searching all fields, companies, contacts and candidates (maybe partial name functionality as well so first three letters of first name then part of second name).
If this then dropped down with relevent options you could quickly click the one you want and go into their relevent file.

As its not possible to have multiple tabs open, you have to always select the drop down or dashboard before being able to search.
Could there be a search option with "Get Count" and "Search"

Sorry Melanie. Gdpr work got prioritized over this.
When we are through supporting everyone with this we will be back on to it.

It is now 5 months ago and I am getting increasingly frustrated with this - when is it likely to be done?

This would be great a king of Omni Search, ala Google. So you can have one search box, that you could put a candidates name, reference number,a Job, Job number, company or contact name.

Include a generic search field at the top of each page, which includes suggestions of what you're trying to find as you type, so that we can quickly click through to who / what we're trying to get to, without having to load a "search" page. This will reduce the number of clicks and page loads, helping us speed up our searches.

The last comment that this was in progress was in June - any news on this?
