Prescreen questions
Introduce configurable long-answer fields for pre-screen questions (not advert prescreen, canidate details), allowing candidates to provide more detailed free-text responses during registration or application workflows.
Current pre-screen question fields appear better suited to short responses and may not provide enough space for candidates to give meaningful answers to suitability, experience, motivation, or role-specific questions. This can limit the usefulness of pre-screening and require recruiters to complete additional follow-up manually.
Longer free-text response fields would allow organisations to capture richer candidate information earlier in the recruitment process, improve candidate assessment, reduce follow-up administration, and support more informed decisions before progressing candidates…

Compliance Checks
Introduce configurable age-based alerts or eligibility flags driven by date of birth data already held within Firefish. This would allow organisations to identify workers who fall below specific age thresholds required for operational, insurance, licensing, or compliance purposes without relying on manual checks or additional screening questions.
Some organisations are required to apply different processes, restrictions, or insurance rules based on age criteria. However, directly asking age-based eligibility questions during registration or screening can create compliance and discrimination concerns. Full Audit Trail for Candidate Permissions & Consents
Introduce a full audit trail for candidate consent and declaration fields. System should record who originally completed a declaration, when it was completed, the original response, and all subsequent amendments with user/date/time stamps. Historical values must be retained and reportable. H&G currenty dealing with an example where a candidate is disputing they never gave specific consent for details to be checked and there is no way of easily auditing this

Display all candidates preferences at the top
Automatically display all the candidates ticked preferences at the top of the list instead of having to scroll through from top to bottom to see them all. Currently all the preferences are spaced out in alphabetical order, but it would be good it they automatically moved to the top if ticked.

Search Activity by Date

Notes box when arranging Employer Interview
When adding a client interview to the system it would be really useful to have a notes box to add additional information. Perhaps a second interviewer, or information about a competency test etc.

Availability Searching
In the temp market we often just need to be able to see who we still available for any given day. Adding actual availability (I mean the availability from the availability tab itself, not just an available from date) into the candidate search options is absolutely vital to the way we do business. We have to fill very quickly or we miss out. We simply don't have time to manually check the availability of every matching candidate.

Conditional ownership visibility for unowned records
Currently, ownership visibility is all or nothing. Either every user sees every record, or visibility is restricted so a user can only see and log activity on records they own. Agencies running an exclusive ownership model need the restricted setting to protect notes on live accounts.
The problem is that this also hides every record with no owner. Dormant clients, accounts needing re-engagement, lapsed prospects and anything sitting in a central pool all become inaccessible. Job Coding - ability to select multple preferences
In job preferences you can only select one of each of the preferences. When coding up a job it would be helpful if you could select a preferred plus secondary options like you can when coding up a candidate.
